Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely — our 3 Day Tanzania Wildlife Encounter Safari is specifically designed to deliver the maximum possible wildlife variety and the maximum possible safari impact within just three extraordinary days. Tarangire and Lake Manyara together offer an exceptional and genuinely surprising diversity of wildlife, landscapes, and experiences that consistently exceeds the expectations of every guest who joins this itinerary. For guests with more time available we strongly recommend our 5 or 7 day itineraries incorporating the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
The dry season from June to October delivers the most dramatic wildlife concentrations — particularly in Tarangire where enormous elephant herds and all major predators converge on the Tarangire River during this period. January to March offers excellent game viewing with beautiful green landscapes and Tarangire’s extraordinary calving season. This safari delivers outstanding wildlife encounters in every season of the year.
Yes — both Tarangire and Lake Manyara support Big Five species and sightings of lion, elephant, leopard, and buffalo are regularly reported on this itinerary. Rhinoceros are not present in either of these parks — guests wishing to complete the Big Five should consider upgrading to our 5 Day Northern Circuit Safari which includes the Ngorongoro Crater — Tanzania’s most reliable black rhino destination.
This is one of our most recommended itineraries for first-time Africa safari travelers — the accessible parks, comfortable distances, excellent accommodation options at all budget tiers, and the exceptional variety of wildlife encounters make it the perfect and most rewarding introduction to the extraordinary Tanzania safari experience.
